Scheduled flights Our holidays are based on scheduled flights with British Airways . We include scheduled flights in our holiday prices because we feel that our clients want the flexiblity of departure date and duration offered by a daily scheduled service , rather than perhaps a weekly charter service . The scheduled airlines also offer the possibility of a premium cabin such as Club Europe with British Airways , which is popular with many of our clients . Wherever these scheduled airlines fly from and to , we can offer you their services . If there is no direct flight from your local airport , we offer a connecting flight with British Airways at a small supplement .

With hire�car included in price A hire�car is essential for many , but not all , of our hotels . We include a hire�car in the price of your holiday for the majority of hotels but we can arrange for you to have a taxi transfer instead in appropriate cases . The hire�car is actually a very cost�effective means of getting from the airport to your hotel and back and also provides the means to explore the area during the course of your stay � an essential element of your holiday for most of the regions featured in this brochure . Obviously you do not need the hire�car when staying in a city and then we do not include it in the price of the holiday . However , if you combine a city with another region ( for example , Venice and the Veneto ), we would arrange for you to collect your hire�car at the end of the stay in Venice , have the use of it for your stay in the Veneto and then return it to the airport at the end of your holiday .

Plus Internal flights If you want to combine two different regions in Italy , it can be most appropriate to fly in between . For example , to combine the Lakes with the Amalfi Coast , it makes most sense to fly from Milan to Naples . We are skilled at making these arrangements for clients , so please ask us for advice .

Private transfers Whilst many clients want the use of a hire�car , it is not always absolutely vital , especially for hotels within a reasonably short distance of an airport and for those in resorts that are readily served by good public transport , for example on the Amalfi Coast or the Italian Lakes . With some city centre hotels , it can be more cost�effective for you to take a taxi at the airport taxi rank , rather than having to allow waiting time for a pre�booked driver . However , many clients do want us to prebook a private transfer and we are happy to arrange this for you .

Boats and hydrofoils For visiting Capri , Ischia and the Aeolian Islands you will need to travel by boat or hydrofoil . In some cases transfers can be pre�arranged or else they are booked locally . We will advise you .

Rail travel to Italy You can travel to Paris by Eurostar and then take the overnight sleeper to Venice and stop in between or you can overnight in Switzerland and enjoy a scenic journey over the Alps to Italy . Many clients now combine stays in various Italian cities , travelling by train in between . For a special occasion or for a leisurely , nostalgic rail journey , we offer the Venice�Simplon�Orient Express .

Self-drive to Italy with own car Enjoy the freedom of the open road and the excitement of feeling the landscape of Europe change as you head south by taking your own car all the way to Italy . We offer you the choice of a crossing with P & O Ferries or by Eurotunnel . We can book overnight stops for you at the hotels we work with in France or you can make the arrangements yourself .
