The hotel is owned by a family from Bergen , who have several other hotels in the city . The location of the Bergen Børs is outstanding : in the centre of the city opposite the Fish Market and harbour , near Torgalmenningen and the Strandgaten shopping street . Museums and the quayside for the ferry services are a few moments ’ walk away . The interiors of the Bergen Børs are filled with bespoke furniture , sleek and modern , designed for relaxation and comfort . Deluxe rooms and junior suites tend to have parquet floors , soft furnishings are in muted tones of greys enlivened with a splash of colour in cushions and curtains , and all have free Wi-Fi . There are five restaurants and bars in the old stock exchange building . These include BARE Restaurant , with Michelin star . This is a gourmet restaurant whose menus change with the season , offering creative Nordic flavours with local ingredients . In the old chamber of commerce hall you ’ ll find the Bar in stunning surroundings , a fusion of traditional wooden ceilings , glass and modern seating . On the lower ground floor is Bare Vestland , a popular and informal restaurant , under the same owners as BARE Restaurant , but serving traditional western Norwegian classics and it ’ s open every day . In the old Fresco hall is Matbørsen serving international dishes and Asian-inspired food . Bergen Børs Hotel is highly recommended .
