CAR HIRE

The points made below are for cars hired in France only . These conditions are subject to change - countries do change their conditions throughout the year so this information is based on what is available at the time of going to press .

What ’ s Included

Unlimited Mileage , Collision Damage Waiver , Theft Protection , Airport service charge or Railway service charge ( as appropriate ), Road tax , Tax at 20 %. waiver and Roadside Safety Net for an additional local charge . Once signed for these charges are non-refundable . Please ensure you really do want these extras before signing for them . Don ' t be afraid to ask for a translation of the rental agreement and make sure you know exactly what you are signing for .

Hire-cars are included in units of 24 hours and coincide with the number of nights included in your holiday . For example if you book a 7 night holiday we have included 7 units of 24 hours . The hours are calculated from the time you collect the car .

What ’ s Not Included

One-way fee If you collect the car from one location and return it to another , there is a one way fee payable locally when you collect the car . We can advise you of the cost at the time of booking .

Personal accident insurance ( PAI ) This is optional . We recommend that you are properly covered for personal accident whilst driving the car . Holiday personal insurance policies usually cover this – please check before you leave home . If in doubt , you may purchase personal accident insurance from Avis on arrival .

Other Information

International One Way Rental The additional charge for one-way international rental is available on request and is only for certain vehicle groups . Minimum Renting Age The minimum age for renting most car groups in France is 21 . You must have held your licence for a minimum of 1 year . Young Driver An additional fee will be applied for a young driver or an additional young driver under the age of 25 . Maximum of 10 days charged . Maximum age The maximum age for renting any vehicle is 85 .

Additional Driver The cost of adding an additional driver . Charges to be supplied .

Petrol We strongly recommend that you return the car with a full tank of petrol . The car should have a full tank when you collect it . If this is not the case , please raise it with Avis at the point of collection . If Avis need to refuel the car they will bill you a service charge plus tax in addition to the cost of the petrol plus French VAT ( FRVA ). It is well worth keeping your final petrol station receipt so as to have proof that the car was returned with a full tank .

Administration fee An administration fee plus tax will be applied in case of non-payment of the highway toll , Highway Code transgressions , fines and faulty accidents without third party .

GPS The cost of renting a GPS unit is approximately Euros 25 per day plus tax . Please request at the time of making the reservation .

Child seat / booster seat Children up to the age of 10 years are required by law to be seated in a child seat or boosters seat . The cost of renting a child booster seat is Euros 15 per day with a maximum charge 7 days . The cost of renting a baby safety seat is Euros 15 per day with a maximum charge of 7 days . Maximum charge 3 days at Euros 45 . There will be a fee if the child booster seat or baby seat is damaged or lost .

Please note : When you collect the car , the Avis office is likely to offer you such things as Super Theft Protection and Super Collision Damage Waiver , Windscreen damage
